At age five my father suprised me when he brought a box with a magic instrument in it, a soprano saxophone. He taught the fingerings and my musical journey started. After graduating as a mathematician at the University I was admitted to the conservatory where I graduated as Master Jazz saxophone specialised in lead-alto playing. Later I also graduated as a Bachelor in Classical clarinet.
It&#;s my passion to inspire other people to enjoy the meaning of music. As a teacher (private lessons or workshops), as a performer, as a conductor or composer. I specialised in integrating jazz, pop and world music in classical ensembles, with improvisation being an important ingredient.
As a free-lance saxophone player I work with the Metropole Orchestra, WDR Big Band, Royal Dutch Airforce Band, the Noord Nederlands Orkest, Clazz Ensemble, Guido’s Orchestra and my groups JanZZn4! and Wood & Winds. I am the regular lead-alto player in the Konrad Koselleck Big Band and Holland Big Band, the LUNAR Ensemble and played musicals like &#;Jesus Christ Superstar&#;, &#;La cage aux folles&#;, &#;Annie&#;, &#;Chicago&#;, &#;Cats&#;, &#;Evita&#;, &#;Hairspray&#;, &#;Fame&#;, &#;Footloose&#;, &#;Assepoester&#;, &#;Joseph&#;, &#;Grace&#;, &#;Oorlogswinter&#;, &#;Miss Saigon&#;, &#;Kiss of the spi
BIOGRAPHY
Maarten van der Grinten
is a guitar player from the Netherlands. He lives in Amsterdam, but he and his guitar visited a lot of places in the world. People will define him as a jazz guitarist first, but Maarten loves a good song which brings him to all sorts of crossovers in music. Maarten is known for his expressive creative and intimate style of playing.
Busy Man
Maarten has been playing every month with composer and jazz veteran Theo Loevendie & the Wellingtonians. Transparent abstract music, balancing between classical and jazz. Theo (92!) recently stopped with the gig and Maarten took it over, alternating with tenorist Yuri Honing
Maarten had his own psychedelic country blues band Martha Jane & the Talisman. With his swampy resonator and his spacy effects he created a completely new sound for their originals. Unfortunately the pandemic ended the live activities and the band seems not to survive it for now.
Also he continues playing with his long-last friends in jazz band DIG d’DIZ. He travels regularly to the Middle East to play with the Lebanese singer Rima Khcheich and he loves to play duo gigs with Hermine Deurloo (chromatic harmonica).

Biografie
Susanne Rosmolen () begon op 6 jarige leeftijd met cellospelen bij Frank van den Berg aan de muziekschool in Amersfoort. Vanaf haar 16e studeerde ze aan het Prins Claus Conservatorium te Groningen bij Jan-Ype Nota en Michel Strauss. In behaalde ze haar bachelordiploma om vervolgens verder te studeren bij Jeroen den Herder aan Codarts, Rotterdam, waar ze in Cum Laude haar masterdiploma behaalde. Ook volgde ze masterclasses van o.a. Anner Bijlsma, Ernst Reijseger, David Strange, Shmuel Magen, Harro Ruijsenaars, Floris Mijnders, Xenia Jankovic, Jeroen Reuling en Jakob Koranyi.
Susanne geeft regelmatig solorecitals, waarbij ze zich toelegt op modern klassiek repertoire. Ze vertolkte onder andere het werk ‘Songs and Poèms’ van Philip Glass tijdens het Internationaal Cellofestival Zutphen in In de periode heeft Susanne samen met het ensemble Cello8ctet Amsterdam getoerd met de kindertheatervoorstelling ‘Cellokrijgers’. Deze voorstelling is tijdens de Cello Biënnale in première gegaan en vertolkt een theatrale bewerking van choreografieën op muziek van Philip Glass, Béla Bartók en György Ligeti bewerkt voor cello-octet.

Op 30 juni jongstleden overleed componist, arrangeur en orkestleider Ruud Bos, een man met vele muzikale talenten. In de afgelopen zestig jaar drukte hij een stevig stempel op de Nederlandse lichte muziek.
Een veelzijdige carrière
Ruud Bos begeleidde grootheden als Wim Sonneveld en Willem Nijholt in het theater, zette talrijke liedteksten op muziek en componeerde, arrangeerde en dirigeerde eindeloos veel voor bioscoopfilms en tv-series.
Iconische composities
De tunes van Moef Ga Ga, Zeg ’ns Aaa, de jazz-funk filmmuziek van De Inbreker, Because Of The Cats, Naakt over de schutting en Ik ben Joep Meloen. De meer klassiek georiënteerde soundtracks voor Mariken, Elkerlyc, en De Leeuw van Vlaanderen. De musical De Stunt, de jazzytelevisiemuziek voor de shows van Rob Touber en misschien wel Bos’ bekendste werk: De Fabriek, met onvervalste discosound.
Samenwerkingen en bijdragen aan de Nederlandse muziek
Hij stond jarenlang voor het Metropole Orkest en schreef balletmuziek en reclametunes. Voor de Efteling componeerde hij de muziek van Fata Morgana, Droomvlucht, Villa Volta, Vogelrock en samen met Toon Hermans, Carnaval Festival
Jan Wessels &#; trompet, flugelhorn, arrangeur
Jan is geboren op 4 februari Hij studeerde trompet bij Ack van Rooijen en Willem van der Vliet en arrangeren bij Kenny Napper aan het Conservatorium in Hilversum, waar hij in zijn diploma’s behaalde. Hij is (freelance) trompettist, componist en arrangeur.
Jan wordt veel gevraagd als studio &#; en sessiemuzikant. Hij speelde onder andere bij:
Glenn Miller Orchestra, Orkest van het Oosten, Concertgebouw Orchestra, The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, The Dutch Jazz Orchestra, The Millennium Jazz Orchestra, The Ramblers en het Metropole Orkest.
Als arrangeur heeft hij geschreven voor o.a. het Metropole Orkest, Skymasters, Mariniers Kapel, Luchtmacht Kapel, Orkest van het Oosten, Big Band van de Hessische Rundfunk en The Dual City Concert Band, Big Band of the Concertgebouw.
In won Jan met zijn arrangement van The Touch Of Your Lips de 1e prijs op het Polaroid Big Band Festival.
Als trompet- en theoriedocent is hij verbonden aan de conservatoria van Amsterdam (Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten) Zwolle en Enschede (Artez Hogeschool voor de Kunsten).
Ook geeft Jan gastcollege onder meer aan Landes Jugend Jazz Orchester Hessen.
